Common questions for managers and guards. Can't find what you need? Email us and we'll reply within one business day.
How do I add a guard to my organization?
Go to Team in the dashboard sidebar. You can either share your organization's invite code for a guard to enter in the mobile app, or send a direct email invite from the Team page — both create a pending account the guard activates from their phone.
How does a guard clock in and out?
From the mobile app's shift screen, a guard taps Clock In / Clock Out. Location is checked against the site's geofence at that moment; if they're outside it, the shift's attendance record is flagged so you can see it in Attendance or the guard's detail page.
How do I set up patrol checkpoints?
Open a site's detail page, add checkpoints, and print or download the generated QR codes to place at each patrol point. A guard can only scan a checkpoint while clocked in at that site, so scans can't be faked from off-site.
How does Auto-roster work?
Auto-roster (in the sidebar) proposes a guard for every unassigned shift in a date range in one pass, using each guard's proximity, availability, and site eligibility. You review and can override any suggestion before applying them all at once.
What's the difference between Cover Requests, Staffing Requests, and Auto-roster?
Auto-roster fills shifts you haven't assigned yet. Cover Requests handles a shift that's already assigned but the guard can no longer work it — it notifies a shortlist of eligible, opted-in guards so someone can claim it quickly. Staffing Requests are new coverage asks submitted by a client through their portal, which you review and turn into shifts.
How do clients see what's happening at their site?
Invite them from the Clients page with the specific sites they should see. They get a read-only portal showing who's on site right now, recent checkpoint scans, and any open incidents at their sites — no phone calls needed.
How do I export payroll data?
The Reports page lets you pick a date range and export either a summary CSV or a detailed payroll CSV, broken down per guard with hours worked and any pay-rate loadings you've configured in Organization settings.
A guard says they're not getting shift or push notifications — what do I check?
Confirm they've allowed notifications for the app on their phone (iOS: Settings → the app → Notifications; Android: same via the app's system settings). They also need to have opened the app at least once while logged in, since that's when it registers for notifications.
How do I join my company's organization?
In the app, use the invite code your manager shares with you, or accept the email invite they send you — either way, this links your account to their organization so you can see your shifts.
Why won't Clock In work at my site?
Clock In needs your location to be within the site's geofence radius, which your manager sets when the site is created. If you're clearly on-site and it's still not working, check that Location permission is set to "Always" or "While Using" for the app.
What happens if I miss a checkpoint scan?
Nothing happens automatically to your shift, but missed checkpoints do show up to your manager and factor into your reputation score's checkpoint-compliance component over time.
How do I submit a certification or license?
Go to My Certifications, choose the type, and follow the upload prompts — a security license needs front/back photos plus a selfie; other certification types accept a photo or file. Your manager reviews and approves every submission before it counts.
How do I pick up a cover shift?
If you've turned on "available for cover" in your profile, you'll see open cover requests on the Cover Shifts screen and can claim one directly — it's first-come, so claim it quickly if you want it.
What does the Report Incident button do, and when should I use it?
Use it any time something happens on shift worth logging — from a minor issue to something urgent. Add a description, a severity level, and an optional photo; your manager is notified and reviews it from their dashboard.
I'm not receiving shift reminders or alerts on my phone.
Check that notifications are allowed for the app in your phone's system settings, and make sure you've opened and logged into the app recently — that's when it registers your device to receive them.
