Guard tour app for security patrols
Guards scan QR or NFC checkpoints on their phone. You get a time and location for every scan, and your client can see the patrol happened.
Start your 30-day free trialWhy paper patrols fall short
- Paper patrol sheets can be filled in at the end of the shift, from memory.
- A client disputes a patrol and there is nothing to show when it actually happened.
- Checkpoints sit in basements and loading docks where there is no mobile signal.
A patrol app replaces the clipboard with a scan that carries its own timestamp and location.
How BeVigil patrol tracking works
Set up checkpoints for each site
Add checkpoints to a site and put them in patrol order. Each checkpoint has its own geofence radius, so a scan can be compared against where the checkpoint actually is.
QR codes you print, NFC tags you write
Every checkpoint has a printable QR code. If you prefer NFC, a manager can write a tag from the BeVigil mobile app, or register a tag you already own by its hardware ID.
Guards scan on patrol
During a shift, the guard scans the QR code with the phone camera or taps the NFC tag. BeVigil records the time and the guard's GPS position against that checkpoint and shift, along with the distance from the checkpoint and whether the scan was inside its geofence.
Scans queue when there is no signal
If the phone cannot reach the server, the scan is saved on the device and uploaded automatically when signal returns. The checkpoint list is loaded when the guard opens the scan screen, so it can be checked without a connection.
Reports managers can use
The reports page shows each guard's checkpoint compliance (checkpoints scanned out of the total at their site, across completed shifts) next to hours worked and out-of-geofence events. Per-guard summaries export to CSV.
Visible to your client
The client portal shows a venue the recent checkpoint scans at its sites, and a patrol compliance figure, without anyone phoning the office. Clients only see the sites assigned to them.

Frequently asked questions
What is a guard tour app?
A guard tour app records that a security guard physically visited set points on a patrol route. Guards scan a QR code or NFC tag at each checkpoint, and the app logs the time and location.
Do I need to buy special hardware?
No. Guards scan with their own phone or a company phone. QR codes are printed from BeVigil, and NFC tags are optional; you can write them from the mobile app or register tags you already have.
Does patrol scanning work offline?
Yes. A scan made without signal is stored on the phone and uploaded automatically when the connection returns.
Can my client see patrol activity?
Yes. The client portal shows recent checkpoint scans and a patrol compliance figure for the client's own sites. It is read-only and limited to the sites you assign.
How much does it cost?
BeVigil costs $5 AUD per active guard per month with a 6-guard minimum ($30 per month). Patrol checkpoints are included with every other feature, and you can try it free for 30 days, then cancel anytime with no lock-in contract.
